About the Blog
The Contemporary Law Forum (TCLF) is a student-run, professionally supported legal blog dedicated to promoting and publishing high-quality legal research on contemporary issues of law.
Managed by Shashwat Awasthi (Advocate, Delhi High Court and LL.M. Graduate, Columbia Law School, New York), TCLF serves as a platform for meaningful dialogue among students, practitioners, academics, and other stakeholders in the legal profession through rigorous legal research and writing.
Over the years, TCLF has published articles across a wide range of legal disciplines and continues to provide authors with an opportunity to engage with pressing legal and policy developments.
In addition to its publication platform, TCLF hosts “TCLF One-on-One”, an interview series featuring distinguished legal professionals from India and abroad, including senior advocates, partners, academics, researchers, and in-house counsel.
Key Responsibilities
An associate editor would be expected to carry out the following tasks:
- Editorial Review: Review manuscripts submitted by students, practitioners, and academicians on a rolling basis. Articles are generally allocated in accordance with the editor’s areas of interest. Each manuscript is expected to be reviewed within 6–7 working days of allocation.
- TCLF One-on-One Series: Assist in identifying themes, preparing interview questionnaires, and suggesting prospective guests. Based on performance, Associate Editors may also be invited to conduct interviews.
- Research Initiatives: Contribute to the preparation of the TCLF Monthly Newsletter and other research initiatives, including legislative briefs, research handbooks, and similar publications.
Eligibility
The applicant must be in or above 3rd year (5-year course) or 2nd year (3-year course) of Law School. The student’s profile should reflect a strong interest in legal research and writing.
Important Details
- The applicant must work exclusively for TCLF and any form of parallel association with any other blog is not allowed.
- There is no remuneration involved. TCLF is a purely academic endeavour.
- The applicant would join the team for a period of 3 months, subject to extension based on performance. The decision regarding extension would be taken by the Managing Editors in consultation with the Board of Advisors.

- Receive a Letter of Recommendation on behalf of the Advisory Board upon successful completion of their tenure, recognising their contribution and performance.

- Develop practical editorial skills and gain hands-on experience in academic publishing, legal research, and scholarly writing.

The subject line should read as “Application-Editorial Position August 2026”. The cover e-mail must give a brief profile of the applicant and highlight her/his interest areas.
Selection Process
TCLF follows a two-stage selection process:
- First Stage: CV/Application Review
- Second Stage: Online Interview
